Delroy Edwards’ L.A. Club Resource imprint continues to pursue murky dance-floor excursions with an EP of raw experiments from the boss himself under the alias DJ Punisher. The EP’s opening track is the only to employ a steady pulse, with an incessant jack and a pummelling bass drone making an impact far more than the sum of their parts, but the most vibrant material avoids dance-floor tropes entirely, focusing on crushingly noisey excursions into the unknown. Track two recalls Russell Haswell in its laser-beam slides and slamming bass, track three is somewhere between a screaming guitar solo and an exploding computer, while track four presents a massive wash of distorted fall out.
