Despite more than 50 releases over almost three decades, it is only now that Swedish electronic trio Frak are starting to receive wider recognition. After releasing a few 12-inches on the Malmö-based Kontra-Musik, their Upset About Lance EP comes out on the fledging TSAR records. Maintaining their approach as analogue experimentalists, Frak make their voice heard with alarming synth sirens in ‘Lightpeople’ and elbowing acid house lines in ‘Drumcometrue’. ‘This Is Lance’ impresses with 95 BPM patience whereas ‘Twinhead’ quick fires the synth pistol.
