Belgian drum and bass experimentalist Alix Perez drops the U EP on Exit. The title track sees nightmarish vocals swirl over unrelenting claps and shadowy fills. A chopped-up sample only adds to its urgency. 'Sludge' is weighed down with heavy layers of industrial noise and a plod that creeps forward, always threatening to flip it on you. 'Make It Worth', a collaboration with footwork heroes DJ Rashad and DJ Spinn, sees gated riffs and squawking synths combine to create nervous tension over a skittering beat. 'Gully Halves' brings the EP to a close, searing low-end stabs and alien voices serving to make this the darkest track on a release that's already swathed in black.
