New Zealander Oliver Peryman AKA FIS continues to explore new genre defying areas with fresh EP Iterations, his second for Brooklyn based imprint Tri Angle since his multifaceted debut EP for the label, Preparations. Opening title track ‘Iterations’ draws on some glossy synth work, laid over some crunchy, crawling percussion whereas the atmospheric ‘Womb Dreams’ offers more in terms of a rhythm albeit completely obliterated and disorientating. On the flipside, FIS constructs two pensive cuts in ‘Fever Sweats’ and ‘Her Third Eye (Drum Rain)’, pairing awe-inspiring ambient backdrops with torrents of scruffy percussive precipitation. .
