Biosphere’s brand of extended drone and ambient techno tracks seems particularly suited to commentaries on time. As he returns to AD 93 after three years, he muses on the continuity of life with The Way Of Time, his gentle lapping tides of synthesis framing the endless wonderings of Joan Lorring in a radio play based on Elizabeth Maddox Roberts’ The Time Of Man. Lorring’s recurring voice samples float along to the curious melodies, as Biosphere introduces rhythmic tension with twitching, pulsating beats splitting ‘Like The End Of The World’ sideways and exploring slow, pensive electro on ‘All Stars Have Names’.
