For the third release on his self-titled imprint, Sasu Ripatti fires off two hyperactive bangers under his Vladislav Delay moniker. Like his recent work under his given name, and with Max Loderbauer as Heisenberg, Ripatti03 showcases the producer’s newer, frantic, footwork-influenced sound. A-side ‘#5’ is a tangle of complex drum work, clipped keyboards shot to shreds by machine-gun kick clusters and a hail of hi-hats. ‘#22’, anchored by neck breaking kicks and punctuated with rugged vocal samples, cools things down just a bit with sublimely spacey synth pads.
