Rob Booth’s respected podcast label Electronic Explorations unveil a third techno release in the form of this debut from Habits of Hate, the duo of Manni Dee and Happa. The eagle-eyed might recognise the latter as a remixer of Four Tet and contributor to the Bleep Green Series, and he certainly lives up to the hype he’s earned here, locking horns with Manni on two killer cuts: ‘A Rebel from the Waist Down’, which thrashes and rages with so many demented electronics it’s like fireworks set off in a Roland factory, and ‘Limelight Roles’, a thudding but urgent slice of dub techno that glides from foggy rhythms to dance floor domination.
