Mike Paradinas and Lara Rix-Martin release their second album as Heterotic, blending electronic sensibilities with sensuous grooves. Brooding vocals are supplied this time around by French singer and producer Vezelay, whose Lyre EP came out on Planet Mu. Tracks alternate between swung rhythms and trudging basslines, trap kicks and Vangelis synths - it is Mu-sic after all. The album closes with all the pomp of an 80s pop ballad, piano arpeggios and glorious synth blasts, all imbued with the longing of Vezelay's wistful swooning lyrics.
