4 Men with Beards comes up with another incredible reissue with the seminal 1970 self-titled debut LP from Funkadelic. For George Clinton’s hugely influential collective, this is where it all began with Clinton’s riotous brand of funk-rock eventually going on to influence legions of musicians from a range of different genres. Brash guitars open ‘Mommy, What’s A Funkadelic?’ is dark, sickly-sweet slice of psychedelic funk reminiscent of the free-flowing excursions of Jimi Henrix whereas the wah wah guitars and sing-a-long vocals of ‘I Got A Thing, You Got A Thing, Everybody’s Got A Thing’ give away expectantly for wild, hugely energetic guitar, drum and key solo that’ll take your breath away.
