“Midnight was an experiment in fusing house music and systems music made by the likes of Philip Glass and Wim Mertens. Choice on the other hand was a case of sampling my own records which consisted of a lot of anarcho-punk - hence the crucifix vocal. I always felt there a lack of social comment and rebellion in house vocals at the time, so I tried to fill the gap with Choice!” – Paul Hartnoll
