The Glasgow electro/house legend chalks up another release on another cult label with this EP for Hypercolour. It seems Bernardi’s dayglo synth signatures were destined to end up on the Cedric Maison’s powerhouse roster: ‘Music For Short Attentions’ is a set of galvanising shots of techno that are guaranteed to snag anyone with limbs and a sense of rhythm. Opener ‘No-One Seems To Care’ takes bass-heavy digital pads and soothes them with vocodered voice and brass horns, while B-side ‘Inbetween Fire’ is a house groover that sways and swaggers around its simple vocal hook of “It’s alright.” As a description of the EP that’s putting it mildly - this is a near-flawless release from Bernardi, one with the pulling power to unite pernickety ex-ravers and modern tech-heads alike.
