Gearing up for their Belly Up EP following 2024’s You Never End, Moin provide a double drop keeping the momentum going. Wayward shuffles of drums akimbo on ‘See’ put the toms in the spotlight, backing Ben Vince’s endlessly tunnelling saxophone and Sophia Al-Maria’s spoken word, picking up from their previous collaboration on ‘Lift You’ as she rattles off perspective altering truths punctuated with a nonchalant “see?”. ‘X.U.Y.’ is the yin to the yang of ‘See’, a kind of skeletal grunge sound of sparse drums and thin riffs filled out by buzzing bass tones and illegible vocal loops, both tracks heaping on the layers of electronics and bristling guitars.
