Self taught sound engineer and sound effects specialist Tod Dockstader began his career in 1955 when he moved to Hollywood and began working on the scores for cartoons. His music, which features early electronic innovations prominently, is strange and playful. Made in a time before the synthesizer, sounds were stitched together from reel-to-reel tape and whatever other hardware was to hand. In his spare time, he would work on his own music, including this release Organized Sound: Luna Park; Travelling Music; Apocalypse which has been given a reissue by Doxy. The results and creative and involving, and its a sound that still comes across as wonderfully alien.
