Brooklyn’s Michael Bouldry-Morrison aka Octo Octa continues to shine for the 100% Silk label with another top-notch EP. Cause I Love You contains some of the producer’s tightest, most uplifting work, and showcases a number of different house-modes he easily shines in. The title track rolls along with a throbbing bass line and diced vocals before skilfully layered percussion and lush pads are cut in. ‘So Lux’ features kaleidoscopic keyboards over an after-dark, lounge groove, while slow-burner ‘Give’ glides along thanks to a dubbed out synth line, submerged bass and a wistful vocal assist from Raw Moans. Hypnotic closer ‘Mine (Second Chance)’, a perfect synthesis of the three aforementioned tracks, wraps the set with a strong look.
