Emergent house label Huntleys & Palmers continue their “no B-sides” mission with this four-track EP, whose carefully collected high-quality beats come from far and wide. ‘Subculture’ by Glasgow DJ Cruffy is bleary Chicago house but with a jazz twist; Carisma’s ‘Pamela Two’ livens up a rigid techno signature with some serious cowbell; ‘Ministry of Silly Talks’ by rRoxymore uses tangled 808s to delirious effect; long-term H+P associate Prophets of the South cooks up an unlikely mix of Detroit techno and ethnic choruses on ‘District 6’. You can’t go wrong with any of these four nuggets - highly recommended for those who like experiments on the dance floor!
