London electronic trio flies+flies are a former art collective turned experimental rock band, who draw on the debauched keyboards of Depeche Mode for this double-A 10”. The title track is a dusty, thumping slice of alt-rock that manages to reference Old Apparatus’ murky output and ‘OK Computer’-era Radiohead - heady rhythm guitar, groaning vocals, a lorry-load of reverb and a stubborn broken beat. Flip-side ‘Sufi’ riffs on its Eastern title with vocodered morning prayer and an amped-up sitar line.
