Inspired by the cultural evolution of electronic sound, emptyset are back after six years with their latest full length foray into their unique bent for heavy sonics. While James Ginzburg has been working in the illustrious multi instrumental group Osmium, Paul Purgas delved into India’s hidden synth history on his compilation The NID Tapes; both experiences come into play on Dissever as the duo modulate their brand of harsh, throbbing synthesis, shifting from brittle and sputtering to full, spewing voltage as ‘Gloam’ revolves around a ceaseless pulse that waxes and wanes but never loses momentum.
