Nightwave arrives with her second EP on her own Heka Trax imprint, enlisting the help of ghetto house legend DJ Deeon on title track ‘Hit It’. The EP really benefits from its inclusion of both an instrumental and complete version of ‘Hit It’, as Nightwave’s skittering trap production is impressive enough to merit its own space as much as underpinning DJ Deeon’s incendiary vocal delivery. ‘Scooter’ takes hyperactive rave synths and funnels them into a high definition hip-hop template once more, but the highlight is the incredible ‘Fire Hoes’, which marries Emptyset-style electronic aggression with naïve video game synths, creating something akin to a cartoonish vision of apocalypse.
