Techno legend Mike Dehnert returns to Delsin records three years after his last album for the label with a new full length testament to a more experimental approach than his previously functional techno work. Many of the tracks on ‘Lichtbedingt’ see Dehnert at his most playful and unusual, with ‘Remove’ made up of stuttering bursts of blunted analogue toms, chimes and groaning vocals, and ‘Quadrature’ managing a smudged beauty reminiscent of Actress or Huerco S. There is, however, much which is sculpted explicitly for dance floor impact, with ‘Emlo’ and ‘Woop’ highlights of the shuffling and impulsive techno sound which the producer clearly still has his touch for.
