Linda Perhac returns to the studio for a second album more than 40 years after the release of her much-loved debut album ‘Parallelograms’. ‘The Soul Of All Natural Things’ is an album of fragile, soulful Americana, with experimental touches which make it a special listen. On ‘Intensity’, Perhac’s lead vocals are delivered with a wounded vulnerability above a backdrop of Bjork-esque female choirs and subtly skittering glitch beats. ‘Song Of The Planets’ is grounded by a luminous Hammond Organ drone, while cuts like ‘Children’ frame the singer’s powerful lyrics within clouds of swelling orchestral strings.
