UNO NYC brings us the debut full-length mixtape from Dutch E Germ aka Tim Dewit, co-founder/former member of celebrated indie-band Gang Gang Dance. This project will almost certainly appeal to GGD fans, drawing on the same schizo energy and diverse cultural influences that characterised the group. Whether it’s Saharan guitar on ‘Mint Nose’, Eastern-style vocals on ‘Nami Nami’ and ‘Rani’ or an angelic chorus on ‘40oz Angel’, Dewit draws from vast array of global samples. He also careens brilliantly betweens thoughtful offerings like the drone heavy ‘Real Cuts Blud’ and more aggressive tracks like the hyper-abrasive ‘Nine’ and ambient-meets-trap cut ‘Elephant’.
