Handsome Head debut on Fifth Wall records with two 150-plus BPM numbers which tip their cap to classic drum and bass and jungle whilst adding something fresh to the mix, backed with remixes by Henning Baer and Hound Scales. ‘Rebels of the Neon God’ is a classic breakbeat cut, with skittering drums spilling over the bar lines in evocative waves while snippets of shifted vocals and sensual synth pads complete the heady mix. ‘Qing Shao Nian Nuo Zha’ revels in a similarly frenetic world, with Hound Scales focussing its breakbeats into a hammering industrial techno mix and Henning Baer offering a more nuanced techno remix, where swathes of warehouse noise cloud a chugging thump.
