Efdemin returns to Dial Records for his third full length LP, his latest since the huge 2010 release Chicago. Produced after taking up residence in Japan’s ancient city of Kyoto, Decay seeps with the same kind of immersive beauty found in the cities numerous temples and abundance of natural features albeit with a stripped, electronic pulse. ‘Some Kind Of Up And Down Yes’ leads off, marrying an engulfing ambient drone to a dry, Robert Hood-styled Detroit beat; whilst the Detroit influence is felt just as strong on ‘Solaris’ and ‘Parallaxis’ which both evoke feelings of Axis & Millsart. Perfect for deeper dance floors are ‘Decay’ and ‘Subatomic’, both carrying a submerged sense of atmosphere and space whilst the endless organic groove of ‘The Meadow’ will completely swallow you up.
