Broken English Club is the new guise of veteran UK techno experimenter Oliver Ho, who has in the past released under numerous aliases, including work as Raudive, Birdland and Veil. For this release on Regis, James Ruskin and Juan Mendez's Jealous God his music explores the dark spaces between techno, post-punk and the kind of twisted nihilism of acts like Suicide. Passages of doom-laden, effects-heavy spoken word are deployed over the dark, industrial hum of noise and machines for a stark and tense, but certainly mesmerising, release.
