The De:tuned label brings one of the original architects of the Midwest dance sound to the label for the first time with this new LP from Dan Curtin entitled The 4 Lights. While Curtin has long been yet another member of the Rust-Belt-to-Grey-City cultural exchange, his roots are in Cleveland, a lesser heard, but still important piece of the early house and techno movement despite its rep as a rock and roll town. Curtin always shared a love of space age funk with his Detroit compatriots, and that retro-futurism comes to the fore here on his first full length in over 15 years.
