Salami Rose Joe Louis has been a constant figure in the Brainfeeder crew since joining in 2019, and now with her fourth album for the label, she presents some of her most personal songs to date. A loring is a teaching, a knowledge drop, literally a lore-ing, and SRJL unravels her lore through meditations on dreamy, filtered keys pulled from idyllic scenes. Much of the album is built on gentle, hushed synthetic susurrations, layering on the magic with shivering shuffles on the opening ‘Inside’, the breezy strums of ‘Motorway’, and the lofi thuds of ‘Upstairs’ revealing a more active side to the record as they switch out for anxious, bass focussed pulses.
