Glider, the debut LP from Rafael Anton Irisarri’s The Sight Below project, celebrates its tenth birthday in 2018. To mark the occasion Ghostly International are remastering and reissuing the record. Despite being relatively long in the tooth, it’s remarkable how relevant the album still feels a decade on from its initial release. The combination of influences from the worlds of ambient music, post-rock, techno and just a pinch of Hospital Records means that a thread runs from the likes of Loscil and Biosphere, through Glider, and on to contemporary acts such as Kiasmos. Beautiful, tranquil and a little sombre, this one is more than worth revisiting.
