Genres

Minimal Wave unearth an album of highlights from the catalogue of Belgian synth pop group Polyphonic Size, who formed in 1979 with musician Roger-Marc Vande Voorde at the head. Their sound is a dark and noisy take on post-punk stylings, making use of electronics for hard-hitting and futuristic effect, as exemplified on the delirious 'Space Rejection'. Strange but involving moments are plentiful, including their deadpan, robotised cover of The Rolling Stones 'Mother's Little Helper' and the curious distortions and sprightly organ sounds of 'Nagasaki Mon Amour'.
