Patrick Gräser’s releases on Music Man and Marcel Dettmann’s label have placed his Answer Code Request project at the forefront of melodic techno, and this latest EP for Ostgut Ton looks set to catapult him even further. Over three tracks he creates a vivid but serene cityscape, with undulating dub techno on ‘Ghostes’, jackhammer 4/4 beats and soaring keyboards on ‘The 4th Verdict’ and a luscious, static-soaked percussive countdown on the title track. If any action movie directors need some “diffusing bomb” music, ‘Breathe’ is the place to come.
