Anthony Naples’ Proibito label scoops up San Francisco producer Austin Cesear, following a scorching debut for Public Information, with three tracks of sensual house. If ‘Slick’ is anything to go by, the artist’s work is going from strength to strength, here shifting piano samples circle back on one another creating a wistful nostalgia amongst subtly crafted shuffling percussion. The care with which distinct elements are employed makes the cut stand out, with distant claps and synth swoops slowly entering the foreground, ushering in the first kick minutes in. One can only hope and expect the remainder of the EP to match this formidable quality.
