Berlin psych-pop trio Fenster follow up their promising 2012 debut with a grander, more self-assured second effort that reaches even further than their first. From the driving, prog-folk opener ‘Better Days’ to the gorgeously delicate closer ‘Creatures’, the three-piece continue to ignore genre-boundaries and carve out their own musical space. ‘Sunday Owl’ features ghostly tremolo-guitar and an emotive vocal that recalls the xx, embellished with psychedelic production touches. ‘In The Walls’ is thick with trippy vocal processing, aquatic FX and a well-placed harpsichord, while ‘Creatures’ captures singer Remi Letournelle’s sweet, stunning voice at its most vulnerable.
