UK dance legend Quantic makes his long-awaited debut in !K7 Records’ DJ-Kicks series. Long-known for his alchemical blend of house, jazz, and latin soul among countless other genres, the Bewdley man knows his way around proper instruments just as well (if not more so) than the decks, so it's fitting that the cover features a young Will Holland fretting an electric guitar. A self-described family affair, this mix leans heavy on friends, collaborators, and even one of his other aliases. Funk and soul naturally provide the backbone here, but it's the spaces where those classic sounds mingle with clubbier fare (like on his own acid-tinged cut with Sly5thAve ‘Twang’) that really prove his versatility as both producer and selector.
