German producer Victor Shan pops back on the scene with a fresh set of techno tools, courtesy of Running Back. The absolutely massive ‘Chord Memories’ forgoes the build-up/drop formula, preferring instead to pile on the bass and keep rolling at all costs. Deceptively simple on first listen, it features dexterous drum work and a trance-inducing synthline that never quite lays still. Of the three varied tools on the flip-side, acid-synth workout ‘Tool 3’ and the hyper aggressive ‘Tool 1’ are the most noteworthy.
