Bristol’s Joefarr continues to gain momentum, here following two well-received EPs on Tiga’s Turbo Records with a debut release on Hypercolour offshoot Hype_LTD. Deceptively entitled Lounge Vibes Volume One, these four cuts dive straight at the jugular with rough, bulky drum patterns. On the A-side ‘Trappington’ lays down a thick stomp littered by fidgety chord stabs whereas ‘Pocket Face’ sees the producer in all out assault mode, driving forward with an unrelenting machine-focused beat – true warehouse artillery. On the flipside the mechanical feel prevails, offering a totally addictive breakbeat workout on ‘Stuckfix’ and a more subdued, stepper in ‘Fola44’.
