Veteran DJ/producer Phil Kieran makes his Hotflush debut with a pair of escapist house cuts and two formidable remixes. Motorized banger ‘Going There’ pounds along with eyes on the prize before opening up halfway through, adding piano, lush pads and optimistic vocal sample. The hypnotic ‘Getting Away’ is all nervous energy, an unrelenting beat and sketchy bass line mixing with sinister strings and industrial FX. Richy Ahmed clips the happy ending and adds dark house piano on his ‘Going There’ remix. Ryan Elliot’s barely recognisable take on ‘Getting Away’ is fleshed out with a crisp break-beat, rich bass line and ominous vocal sample.
