Seth Haley’s giveaway EPs of retro analogue electronica set the standard for his 2011 debut ‘Galactic Melt’: a collection of ‘80s electro-pop ingredients beautifully mangled by his self-styled “synthetic/robotic astronaut”. This sophomore LP takes us further into space to the newly discovered Wave 1 galaxy which, if it’s anything as dazzling as it sounds here, is the first place NASA should colonise: Linn kicks, bass drops and footwork hi-hats on ‘Subsonic’ and funky Billy Ocean pop on ‘Declination’, which features a breathy vocal turn care of Joel Ford. The stuttering, tropical guitars on the title track - a first for Com Truise - gel nicely with the 8-bit blips and tangled drum work. When it comes to the tricky job of soundtracking space leave it to the man named after a famous comet.
