After recently being discovered by Mary Anne Hobbs, rising London producer Joe Brooks aka Iydes reveals his Phase EP on Dandelion Lotus Records. Heavily texturised, the EP pushes a grime-infused, 2-step style of electronica that retains every ounce of groove despite its complex structures. Sample-laden, mechanical clangs underpin the opening ‘What You Got’ with ‘Call To Reason’ carrying a more danceable, warped beat. On the other side is the darker ‘Aldkrome Li’ which creates a gloomy atmosphere through long sweeping synths and finally ‘Silhouette’ that closes with encapsulating, stuttering drum patterns.
