Brendan Moeller returns under his Beat Pharmacy alias for a concentrated EP of dubby techno on the Echochord Colour label. Title track ‘Cut Deep’ is an obsessive tool for the dancefloor, with a generous amount of space left for simple kicks, shuffling hi-hats and a faded mid-range synth stab to resonate within the bodies of its audience. ‘Override’ draws upon classic DMZ half-step tropes, but renders them slinky and metallic, with a throbbing bass wobble playing off against errant twangs of machine guitars and oddly compelling filter swoops.
