Detroit master Terrence Dixon continues a prolific span of recent releases with another muscular and minimal missive on his own Reduction imprint under his Population One alias. On ‘1’ Dixon juggles swirling psychedelic synths and crisp waves of claps expertly, while ‘2’ is a brilliant expansion of those elements into a heavier, more sinister number, with the percussion settling into patches of heavy jacking, and a string bass line rearing its head unpredictably. ‘3’ is a brilliantly deranged end point, with synth lines wildly contorted and percussion even more physical.
