Given his excellent reconfigurations of the work of Bee Mask in recent months on the Spectrum Spools label, it seems fitting that Donato Dozzy return to the imprint, this time for a re-release of his collaborative albums with Nuel as one package, originally issued on Aquaplano in 2008 and 2009. The 8 ‘Aqua’ tracks which make up the release range from squelchy acid on ‘3’ to the more tribal, light-footed cuts of ‘1’ and 4’, with the collection’s closing track the pick of the bunch in its re-rendering of precise techno elements into dubby, atmospheric textures.
