Dave Clarke, The Exaltics, Aubrey and the Traveller remix Marcel Fengler for Berghain’s Ostgut Ton imprint, with characteristically precise and brilliant results. The Exaltics take on ‘Mayria’ has at its core a crisp yet physical stream of percussion which becomes more and more complex over the track’s duration, but it is the odd synth choirs, distant brass and glittering glockenspiels which give the production a real beauty. While Aubrey and the Traveller offer muscular techno cuts which will undoubtedly do plenty of damage on a dancefloor, Dave Clarke’s remix is a standout, channeling Terrence Dixon in its strange mixture of scuzzy distortions and more polished pounding bass.
