Dego and Kaidi Tatham, whose impressive body of work includes releases as part of 4Hero and Bugz in The Attic, arrive on Eglo with a smooth EP of soulful funk instrumentals. ‘Don’t Remain The Same’ employs a silky downtempo shuffle, complete with crisp clave ticks, to underpin bursts of laid back vocals and synth brass, with ‘Carrots & Sesame’ achieving a similarly slick and slow funk. The real highlight is ‘Ankle Injury’ though, which notches up the tempo to a frantic speed whilst nonetheless retaining its jazzy poise.
