Following his huge, sought after debut release White Savage on Viewlexx, Cliff Lothar joins forces with Skudge’s expanding offshoot Skudge White for a four-track workout of basement-dwelling analogue techno. Kicking off with ‘Murked Out’, Lothar crafts a chunky groove out of an elastic bass line and crisp claps. Groovier is ‘Tangaxuan II’, swinging hard through confident machine-led rhythms and a distinctly lower tempo. On the flip, tempos are raised where things move from the sunken bounce of ‘Audiomess’ to the hair-raising rampage of ‘Darkroom Gloryhole’.
