Rush Hour reissues another deep house anthem for DJs and party people, this time from short-lived house collective ERB. While members Ed Matthews, Ron Trent and Braxton Holmes all have extensive history on the Chicago scene, their 1992 ode to letting go was their only release as a unit. ‘Weekend’ is punctuated by the mantra “no work, it’s time to play”, and is as carefree as you might imagine. Jazzy flute and steady house rhythm frame soulful male/female vocals and seemingly improvised chants, creating a timeless, downright fun feel.
