Helsinki label Sahko Recordings brings two classic offerings from dearly departed techno legend Mika Vainio back to wax for the first time in a while with this new Kuvio 12”. The title track–originally released under Vainio’s Ø alias in 1994–is a masterclass in minimalism, all chilling rush and deft sleight of hand that still sounds otherworldly some 31 years on. The flip is an extended original under his own name from the label’s movie Scene 1 that adds a lot more bells and whistles without losing any of the head rush.
