Turkish producer Gantz debuts on Mala’s Deep Medi Musik for a two-track workout of boundary breaching dubstep. As with previous releases on Innamind Recordings and Black Box, Gantz is keen to push the genre to its peripheries, crafting a meditative lull on ‘Spry Sinister’ through collapsing drum patterns, repeating vocals and dark piano chords. For the B-side, Gantz teams up with Algerian beat maker El Mahdy Jr for ‘Rising’; a dark, straining piece that marries deep bass tremors to arab-folk strings and a heart wrenching vocal.
