UK DJ Michael Dodman has had a prolific career since he first appeared in 2009, notching up almost as many labels as he has garage-edged house EPs. This latest is for Fink and Will Saul’s Aus Music imprint, and shifts things back to techno on its six-minute title track; a slow-burning room shaker built from fiendish bass, 4/4 drums and a gorgeously vocodered female vocal. It’s backed by ‘Creeper’: a lighter, shuffling number that echoes and whispers its way around dayglo synths, elastic low-end and a rapped-in sample you’ll be repeating all day. Possibly Dodman’s funkiest EP yet.
