Mamiko Motto, host of NTS Radio’s Hepcat show, presents a compilation of an international spread of producers on ‘Amada’ for All City Dublin records. SCNST’s ‘For Forest Play Only’ is a strange pounding house number, where a shaking jack is surrounded by bowed sitars and shivering lo-fi glitches, and Claude Speed’s ‘Crushed Rave’ is a mellow cousin of Rustie, with synth voices and stabbing chords pulsing under an invisible external pressure. Obey City’s ‘Take it Back’ adds even more to the stock of strange but relaxed cuts on offer, with half-step beats occasionally cutting through soft-rock guitar lines, a lounge-jazz piano and glorious synth washes.
