Genres

Belgian three-piece Bepotel are a new signing for Brussels electronic label Vlek, though one of their members - Wiet Lengeler, aka Sagat - dropped the eerie techno monolith ‘Few Mysteries Solved in a Year of Contact’ on the label back in 2012. ‘Kikkerkelik’ is that sound made murkier, louder and more luscious, and expanded across four tracks: floaty ambient house on ‘Switch Central’, thudding 4/4 rhythms and syrupy keyboards on ‘Kaketu’, gentle ethnic drums on ‘Wormhole’ and rapid-fire trance pads on the title track. Sagat may have experimented with a wide palette on his ‘Satellite’ EP but here he and his friends sound infinitely more confident here.

  1. 1 Kikkerkelik 6:08
  2. 2 Kaketu 5:17
  3. 3 Swth Central 7:49
  4. 4 Wormhole 3:14
