Víkingur's debut album “Philipp Glass: Piano Works”, released by Deutsche Grammophon 7 years ago, was the cornerstone of a remarkable international career and marked a promising start to his collaboration with the label. On the occasion of the 80th birthday of the composer Philip Glass, Ólafsson presented a selection of his solo piano etudes. “Music is a place that is as real as any place you've ever been,” Philip Glass once said. With his music, he manages to transcend space and time, making new dimensions tangible.
